My first programming language - and the way I was born into programming and software engineering - was ANSI C, then C++. Nowadays, I mostly use R, Ruby and Python for work. I hold a doctoral degree in engineering, and have been an educator in software engineering and computer science for about a decade. Before that I worked in a startup, and I was also a tech consultant.
