Ever since, my mother’s passing, I have always struggled to express my feelings to other people. I found Film to be my form expression and it became the lens through which I saw the world. Christopher Nolan, has always been the greatest inspiration to my work and the funny thing is the last film I saw with my mother was “Man of Steel”, a Nolan film. I remember, after watching Nolan’s blockbuster film “Interstellar” in the cinema, I was marveled by it, fascinated by its themes of love and human connection, sacrifice, and time, it was the first time I ever cried in a film. Seeing this film was a turning point in my life because it became why I want to create films. My films, always like to follow a theme, they always want to tell a story and follow the journey of a character. Visually, I like keep my stories creative and simple but without many dialogues, I lean more on the school of show don’t tell. I know art is very subjective and people will always interpret different things from the same piece but that is the beauty of art, I believe it’s one of the most powerful tools mankind has created, it has the ability to change people to their core. I want to use my films to tell the stories of the unreached people, the marginalized, and bring awareness to ethnic groups that have never been talked about, the world is rich with so many great stories that are awaiting to be told. And, it’s our duty as filmmakers to bring these stories to light.
