We built a school system software having a desktop client that included the following modules:
Notification system
A system that allows collection of student fingerprint data, stores it in a database and sends SMS to their respective
parents during getting in and getting out of school.
SMS module
A system that integrates the school database and SMS API to send short messages and alerts to parents on need
basis. The software system was made using the following technologies:
a. Java for back-end
b. JavaFX for front-end
c. Microsoft SQL server
As project manager, I implemented agile methods of project management, specifically Scrum framework, to
constantly develop, test and push features to production within short time-frames. During my time, I introduced the using of software for aiding in teamwork and project management and communication including Zoho Sprints, Jira
Software, and Slack, which became a core part of the day-to-day activities. I was also actively involved in marketing
of the software system. It was installed and used in several schools in Kenya including:

b. Uswo Secondary School

As ICT Supervisor, during the Kenya Population and Housing Census 2019, I reported directly to the County
Statistics Officer. I trained Content Supervisors and supervised training of Enumerators making sure they were
adequately trained. I provided technical support on ICT issues to Content Supervisors and Enumerators and
collected data daily from the Content Supervisors, syncing it with the cloud servers. I also worked very closely with the Deputy County Commissioner, the local area chiefs, village elders and other security personnel to ensure that
census began on time, went on smoothly and that each and every personnel under my leadership was well protected as they went on to carry on their duties.
The exercise was very well executed and completed successfully in my area of jurisdiction.
